The Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance is excited to present a press conference on October 1, 2020 at 11 a.m. to announce the launch of a redevelopment plan for the Central Virginia Training Center. This press conference will take place in the Alliance’s large conference room at 300 Lucado Place in Downtown Lynchburg. Press and the public are invited to attend and there is public parking available in the adjacent lot to the Alliance building.
The Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance and Central Virginia District Commission have designated the redevelopment of the Training Center as a regional priority convening public and private partners to champion this opportunity. The following localities are financially active partners towards this initiative: Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Campbell Counties, the towns of Amherst, Altavista, Appomattox and the City of Lynchburg.
The press conference will showcase the branded redevelopment plan for the Training Center, the launch of a new website highlighting details and future timelines, site videos and virtual tours, interactive maps, and the introduction of a public survey.
The Training Center is located in Amherst County on 350 acres of land overlooking the James River and adjacent to Downtown Lynchburg. After a long and storied history, the site closed in July of 2020.
